ReFuse was honored to participate in COP 28 of the year 2024 in UAE, one of the world’s largest gatherings focused on climate action known as the United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC. Led by our CEO, Guglielmo, and Impact Officer, Romy, we attended critical sessions on circular economy and climate finance. Our involvement at COP 28 reinforces our commitment to sustainability and environmental justice.
One of the key sessions we attended was on Circular Thinking for Climate Action, where discussions centered around how circular economy practices can contribute to resilience and sustainability. The session highlighted how finance can act as a catalyst for scaling circular solutions, by developing innovative financial products and fostering public-private partnerships.
In addition to learning from global leaders, we also had the opportunity to connect with key stakeholders in the climate finance sector, including organizations such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). These connections will help ReFuse continue to expand its efforts in Lebanon and beyond, building stronger partnerships to advance our mission for a zero-waste society.
COP 28 was not just an opportunity for ReFuse to share our work, but also to learn from the experiences of other organizations tackling climate change. We were inspired by the commitment of so many individuals and organizations working towards a common goal of environmental sustainability. We return from COP 28 more motivated than ever to drive forward circular economy practices and to collaborate with new partners to achieve climate resilience.
